LEAD FACULTY Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC), USA Dr. Muhammad Shamse Tabriz obtained his MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College in 1994. He completed a three year residency in internal medicine at Queens Hospital Center, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York in 2001. From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Tabriz completed a fellowship in clinical infectious disease at St. John Hospital and Medical Center/Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious disease in the USA and currently practices as a consultant in infectious disease at Advocate Christ Medical Center, a 750 bed academic and tertiary care hospital, in Southwest suburb of Chicago. Dr. Tabriz’s expertise focuses on complex cases of infectious diseases in critically ill patients from all subspecialties such as cardiac, neurological, transplant patients, and patients with prosthetic devices including left ventricular assist devices. Dr. Tabriz serves as a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has taught hundreds of medical and pharmacy students and residents over the years. His passion for teaching has extended to Bangladesh, where he has presented lectures and conducted workshop on infection control for more than ten years.
